Out of Time and Place

The Out of Time and Place series comprises dozens of photographic and video works made since 2005, from the very first video vignettes shot in the west of Ireland to the most recent from Iceland in 2020, and Tokyo in 2021.

In each shot I step into the frame. Each photograph documents a moment of being in that place.
From the bare steps of anonymous train stations to the sprawling green of untouched nature, places that at first appear vastly different have something common in their disconnect from the everyday.

The photographs are not presented in any chronological order as the full series deliberately ignores any linear timeline, instead weaving a vague narrative of experiences of place.
